UK Accumulator: February 2010
Mixed economic data, conflicting market opinion and continued market uncertainty - just a few reasons why investing in today’s climate is a concern for many investors. This has encouraged some to look more towards alternative solutions, with the main objectives of protecting capital against the vagaries of the market, whilst providing a basis to secure profits when markets rise.
Our new UK Accumulator has been designed specifically to address these issues, and provide investors with a means to:
- Mitigate the issue of market timing
- Achieve more investment certainty in volatile markets
- Lock-in gains while still remaining exposed to future gains
- Lock-in protection, keeping capital safe from market falls
Although the UK Accumulator provides a significant level of protection, it is not a guaranteed investment. Repayment of capital is conditional on the Index not breaching a barrier. The Plan will appeal to growth investors prepared to accept capital risk in exchange for the potential reward.
Current offer in summary:
- Six-year investment term
- Offers 100% the rise of the FTSE 100, up to a maximum of 60% and locks-in gains for every 15% rise of the Index i.e. from a 115% rise onwards
- Capital is lost if the FTSE falls by more than 50% from its starting level at any point during the term and remains below the starting level at maturity. If this occurs, capital repayment will be reduced by the percentage by which the Index has fallen
- Capital-at-risk condition is removed if the first lock-in level of 115% of the starting level is reached. Capital then becomes automatically protected, irrespective of the future performance of the Index
- Available for Direct Investment, ISA, SSAS, SIPP, Corporates and Charities
- Minimum investment of £3,600
- 3% commission
