Regular Income Bond (annual option): March 2010
The Regular Income Bond is a straightforward product designed to bridge the gap between low return / low risk deposits and high income / high risk investments. With the final return linked to the performance of the FTSE 100 Index, investors in the Bond have the opportunity to enjoy a competitive fixed income through to maturity.
Regular Income Bond is not a guaranteed investment. Repayment of capital depends on the performance of the FTSE 100 Index as noted in the summary below. The product will appeal to income investors who seek regular above-average income and who are prepared to accept some risk to their capital.
Current offer in summary:
- Six-year investment
- Income payable monthly or annually
- Income rates:
- Monthly payment option – 0.4875% gross paid monthly in arrears
- Annual payment option – 6.0% gross paid annually in arrears
- Full repayment of investors’ capital unless the FTSE 100 falls by more than 50% during the term and fails to recover to its starting level by maturity. In this event capital will be reduced 1:1 in line with the Index
- Invests in assets issued by Barclays Bank PLC – Rated AA- by Standard & Poor’s and Aa3 by Moody's
- Available for 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 ISA investment including transfers
- Returns are taxed as income, outside of an ISA
- Eligible in most cases for pension portfolio investment within a SIPP or SSAS investment
- Suitable for Corporates, Trusts and Charities investment
- Early withdrawal is possible but may reduce the initial investment
- 3% commission - can be sacrificed upon request on a one-for-one basis
